Project 1: Case Study of Building Services in Public Buildings
This is a group project to perform a case study on building services systems applied and installed in multi-storey buildings. Students will be introduced to the common systems that are used in a bigger volume of spaces and a variety of users. This exercise requires students to develop their own understanding in the application of building services to make a building technically functional. This discovery will be useful in their future design studio projects to ensure that their building design proposals are practical and efficient.
Project 2: Application of Building Services
Project 2 is an individual assignment on application of basic building services. This is an individual project to apply building services systems to a domestic sized building. This exercise requires students to demonstrate their understanding on the application by producing technical drawings incorporating the necessary building services.
